About DealDash
At DealDash, “the fair & honest alternative to penny
auctions,” consumers have the opportunity to bid, risk free, on hugely
discounted brand-name products. The site sells merchandise from vendors
including Apple, Garmin, Lenovo, Amazon.com, and The Home Depot.
Auctions at DealDash start at $0.00, with each bid increasing the price
of the item being auctioned by $.01. Every time a DealDash user enters a
new bid on an item, the auction clock on that item is extended by 30
seconds. The auction ends when the clock runs out. DealDash earns a
profit on its auctions primarily by charging users $.60 per bid.
DealDash
differs from traditional penny auction sites in that it allows users to
get their bids back if they lose an auction. Users who bid on but did
not win an item have a week to purchase the product they were bidding on
through DealDash’s online store. If they do make a purchase, they
receive all of the bids they made on that item back free of charge.
Another
of DealDash’s signature features, the BidBuddy, caters to DealDash
users who worry about the quality of their connection to the Internet or
who cannot stay online for the duration of an auction. Working on a
user’s behalf, the service bids on a select item every time its auction
clock drops close to the 0:00 mark until a user-specified number of bids
has been reached. If multiple bidders are using BidBuddies they take
turns bidding on the item until all but one of them has been hausted.
Once a bidder wins an item, DealDash accepts all major credit cards and
PayPal for payment. DealDash also provides free shipping for won items
to locations within the 48 contiguous U.S. states.
